- In the early morning, your professional Mystic Egypt Tours guide will meet you in your hotel lobby in Cairo or Giza to start your exceptional day trip exploring Egypt's largest oasis.
Drive to Fayoum
- Your journey begins with a scenic drive of about two hours to Fayoum, located 95 kilometers south of Cairo. Fayoum is an agricultural province, historically significant for its connection to the crocodile god Sobek, and has been shaped by reforms introduced by Mohammed Ali Pasha over 200 years ago.
Visit the Village of Tunis
- Upon arrival in Fayoum, you'll visit the Village of Tunis, known for its pottery art school. Explore the local craftsmanship and immerse yourself in the village's unique atmosphere.
View Lake Qaroun
- Next, enjoy the scenic beauty of Lake Qaroun, one of the oldest natural lakes in the world and the third-largest lake in Egypt. The stunning views of this ancient lake provide a perfect photo opportunity.
Lunch in the Village of Tunis
- Savor a delicious lunch in the Village of Tunis, where you can enjoy traditional Egyptian cuisine while taking in the surroundings.
Visit Wadi El Rayan Nature Reserve
- After lunch, you'll be transferred to Wadi El Rayan, a nature reserve established in 1989, located in the western desert about 42 meters below sea level. The reserve features two interconnected lakes and Egypt’s only waterfalls, formed in 1970 from overflow drainage water. The sight of waterfalls in the desert is a rare and unique phenomenon.

Return to Cairo
